Although I did not realize it at the time, Mildred had a great impact on my life. I lived next to her for a year in 2010-2011. I was very young, newly married, pregnant and having a tough time. We ran out of oil for heat unexpectedly during the winter and she, without asking, reached out to her church where they were able to get us oil to get us through. She often made us foods and desserts and invited us over to her home many times for visits. I often think about her and how grateful I am to have known her, even for a brief time. She was a wonderful person with a big heart.
