Obituary of Jacquelyn Suter Stuart

Jacquelyn Suter Stuart, 91, of Walkertown, NC passed away March 28, 2019 surrounded by her family. She was preceded in death by her husband, William E. Stuart, her son William, and granddaughter. Jacquelyn is survived by her sister Audrey, son John, daughters Carolyn, Amy, and Martha, sons-in-law John Brightbill and John Shukdinas, daughter-in-law Pam Stuart, and her many grandchildren, cousins, nieces and nephews.  Jacquelyn was a loving mother, doting grandmother and great grandmother, and will be remembered for hugs, stories, and songs she shared. Jacquelyn graduated from high school in St. Louis, MO, and attended Iowa State College studying child development. She studied, performed, and taught dance throughout high school and college. Jacquelyn lived a life of service and involvement, keeping busy as a member of the community and her church. She served in the Girl Scouts as a member, camp counselor, troop leader, and was a member of the All St. Louis Girl Scout Chorus. She also served as a Cub Scout leader and Indian Guide mother. Jacquelyn was an active member in church, teaching Bible school and Sunday school while her children were younger, and singing in the choir in later years. Jacquelyn was a member of the Children of the American Revolution, as well as the Daughters of the American Revolution (DAR). She served as Regent for her chapter of the DAR in Haddonfield, NJ. Jacquelyn’s interest in family history drove her lifelong hobby of Genealogy.  She had a love of natural beauty, and was an avid gardener. She volunteered in community botanical gardens and was a member of the African Violet Club over the years.  The family would like to express appreciation to Kate B. Reynolds Hospice Home, Lisa Harris at Homestead Hills, and Jacquelyn’s church family and friends at Main Street United Methodist Church in Kernersville for their care and support during her illness. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to the Ciener Botanical Gardens, Main Street United Methodist Church choir, or Kate B. Reynolds Hospice Home. A memorial service will be held on April 26th at Main Street United Methodist Church in Kernersville.
