Obituary of Jerry Timothy Marion

Mr. Jerry T. Marion, 64, of Winston-Salem, NC passed away on Thursday, February 7, 2019 at Trellis Supportive Care Hospice in Winston-Salem, NC following a brief illness. Jerry was born to the late Lacky Gray and June McCraw Marion in Winston-Salem, NC in 1954. Jerry attended public schools in Yadkin and Forsyth counties and later attended Forsyth Technical Institute. Jerry was a proud veteran of the United States Marine Corp serving both at home and abroad. Following his Marine Corp service, Jerry worked in the drywall construction industry and was recently retired. Jerry was widely known for his friendly grin and enthusiastic approach to life. He loved working with his tools and cooking breakfast for his son. An avid golfer, Jerry loved the outdoors and delighted in driving his pickup truck to pay unexpected visits to relatives. Jerry is survived by his wife, Teresa Everhart of Winston-Salem, one son, Matthew of Winston-Salem, a twin brother, Thomas Jeffrey (Amanda) of Winston-Salem, a sister, Deborah Jo Marion of Winston-Salem and three additional brothers, Keith Marion of Winston-Salem, Michael Marion (Margaret) of Clemmons and Gray Marion (Marlene) of Charleston, West Virginia. He is also survived by a host of nieces, nephews and extended family. A celebration of life service for Jerry will be conducted on Saturday, February 16, 2019, at 2:00 pm at Siloam United Methodist Church, 6743 Siloam Road, Siloam North Carolina with Rev. Wesley Hall and Pastor Paul Kendall officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends at the church for one hour prior to the service. The family requests that in lieu of flowers, friends and family offer a donation in Jerry's memory to Trellis Supportive Care, 101 Hospice Lane, Winston-Salem, NC 27103.
