Obituary of William "Bill" Ivan Neas
William “Bill” Ivan Neas, 69, of Advance died peacefully in his sleep at Forsyth Memorial Hospital on November 20, 2018. He was born on November 3, 1949 in Georgia to the late Ivan and Frances Sizemore Neas. He was a graduate of Reynolds High School and Western Carolina University.
Jan Payne Neas of the home survives him and his two sons, Matt Russell Neas of Lake Charles, LA, and William Scott Neas (Kelly R. Lee) of Winston-Salem. He has two grandchildren of Lake Charles that he didn’t get to see nearly enough, Ramzey L. Neas and Rozlyn R. Neas. He also has two quasi children, Stephanie Russell Potter (Jason and grandson Aerric) of Winston-Salem and Christopher Russell (Kiley and grandson Kaiden) of Charlotte. Also surviving is his brother Marvin “John Hartley” Neas and wife Ann Kelly of Denver, CO.
Bill was one of the founding members of the Triad Austin Healy Club and loved driving and tinkering with his bugeye sprite. He also was a member of SASS, Single Action Shooting Society, where he was known as John Two Feathers and got to play with some of his guns especially his black power pistols. He was also a former president of the Junior Thunderbirds Youth Hockey League and spent many hours watching his sons play hockey and playing hockey himself in the Men’s Hockey League.
He was an organ donor and chose to be cremated. His life will be celebrated at a later date.
