Obituary of Faye Nance Thacker

Faye Nance Thacker went to be with the Lord on November 5, 2018 after a long illness. She was born March 30, 1931 in Forsyth County to the late Leonard Grier Nance, Sr. and Odessa Hudson Nance.  She married Horace Greeley Thacker, Jr. on June 11, 1948. Faye and Horace enjoyed 40 years of marriage before his death.  Faye was a homemaker and dedicated mother to four children – Thomas Thacker (Karen), Patricia Wright (Larry), Susan Church (Wayne), and Peggy Inch (Ronald). She was a loving grandmother to nine grandchildren – Matthew Thacker (Melanie), Megan Thacker Holbrook (Jay), Meredith Thacker, Nicholas Wright (Amber), Shane Church (Dawn), Kevin Church, Joseph Inch (Brittney), Christopher Inch (Megan), and Melissa Inch. Faye was extremely proud of her great-grandchildren – Madison Thacker, Mason Thacker, Bella Grace Holbrook, Daniel Holbrook, Braiden Church, Emma Church, Brooks Inch, Andrew Inch, Jacob Inch, and Hannah Bowen, and a soon-to-be-born great-granddaughter.  Faye was blessed to have a brother, the late L.G. Nance (June), and three sisters, Norma Colter, Martha Marshall, and Judy Cole (Grady), all of whom she loved deeply. She is survived by many nieces and nephews.

Faye was predeceased by her father, mother, and brother. She was also predeceased by her husband, Horace, who died 30 years ago.

A memorial service will take place Wednesday, November 14^th at 11:00AM at Poplar Springs Church of Christ, 7120 NC Hwy 66 South in King, with Don Wallace, Keith Colter, and Nicholas Wright officiating. Visitation will begin at 10:00AM. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the Poplar Springs Church of Christ Bereavement Committee.

The family wishes to thank all of those who visited mom in the hospital, prayed for her, and sent cards during her illness. “I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith.” 2 Timothy 4:7. Mom, we love you and will miss you. Grandma, we love you and thanks for all you did for us.
