Obituary of James Michael Fansler
Mike Fansler, 74, passed away on August 25, 2021 at Forsyth Medical Center after a short illness. He was born in Winston-Salem on August 20, 1947 to James P. and Martha M. Fansler who preceded him in death.
Mike attended Forsyth County schools and graduated from RJ Reynolds High School. Over the years, he was a counselor, photographer, and owned a general store in Southport, NC where he retired prior to moving back to Winston-Salem.
He is preceded in death by his wife, Elaine Fansler; brother, Rev. Ken (Evelyn) Fansler and a sister, Helen (George) McCracken. Mike is survived by his son, Andrew (Kristen) Fansler and grandchildren, Emma and Eleanor, and his step-son, Craig (Marlene) Allen.
A Memorial Service will be held at a later date.
Memorial donations may be made to the Kate B. Reynolds Hospice Home at 101 Hospice Lane, Winston-Salem, NC 27103.
