Obituary of Roy Lee Matthews

Roy Lee Matthews died July 31, 2021 at his home in Winston-Salem, North Carolina. His family was able to celebrate his life with him on that same day. He was 74. Born July 18, 1947 in Kinston, North Carolina, Roy was a tender-hearted man that never met a stranger. As the oldest sibling in his family, he lived in numerous small towns throughout North Carolina. The town of Grifton had the strongest impact over his heart. From being a loyal contributor to the community Kiwanis Club, a respected manger to his employees, and sharing his pastoral gifts to the community, Roy love the dynamic of life in Eastern, North Carolina. His memory will be cherished and kept alive by his wife and caregiver Sandra Matthews; children, April Peck and spouse Brian Peck, Andrew Matthews and spouse Kelsi Chandler and his two grandchildren. The family wishes to thank wholeheartedly those whom have reached out and expressed their condolences.
