Obituary of Shirley Tilley Cook

Shirley Tilley Cook, 92, died Sunday August 8, 2021. Due to Covid considerations, there will be no formal service. Crestview Memorial Park will provide accommodations at the graveside for family and friends from 9:00AM to 2:00PM Saturday August 14, 2021. Shirley was born February 12, 1929 in Surry County, NC to the late Edna Wall Tilley and John Samuel Tilley. In addition to her parents, she is predeceased by her husband, Wesley Moten Cook; daughter, Judy Ann Gentry and son, Wesley Ray Cook. Survivors include her daughters, Jenny Gray Cooper and husband, Larry and Terry Lynn Jackson and husband, Mickey; daughter-in-law, Karen Cook; grandchildren, Mickey Butner, Amy Briante, Shawn Gentry, Jamie Cook, Robbie Jackson and Scott Jackson; many great-grandchildren whom she loved dearly and a special friend, Steve Lawson. Shirley enjoyed a long career as a cosmetologist. She was of the Baptist faith and rededicated her life to the Lord a few years ago at Liberty Baptist Church in Winston-Salem. She will be remembered for the love she had for her family.
