Reynold A Lawson III (Ray) of Kernersville, born in Kosciusko Mississippi and raised in Tennessee, passed away at age 64 on Tuesday, April 6, 2021 at Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center. He was preceded in death by his parents Reynold Lawson Jr and Evelyn Kestner, and two brothers Ronald Lawson and Larry Lawson. He served in the US Navy and retired from the Forsyth County Sheriff’s Department after 26 years. He was a die hard Tennessee Volunteers fan, a huge Peyton Manning fan, and loved the Atlanta Braves. He also enjoyed watching reruns of the Andy Griffith Show, where he could always tell you which episode it was after just the first line or two. He loved going on trips to the mountains and the beach, where seeing dolphins always made him happy. He had a collection of watches and remotes and loved collecting coins. He loved sitting outside watching nature. His cats, Smokey and Sunny, always brought him joy. Ray was loved deeply and will be greatly missed. At this time there will be no funeral/service per his request.
