Obituary of Tommy Lynn Throckmorton

Tommy Lynn Throckmorton, 77, of Kernersville, NC passed away peacefully surrounded by family. He was born in Forsyth County to the late Ralph Claude and Lucille Southern Throckmorton. He is survived by his wife of fifteen years, Jan; daughters, Shawn (Kevin) and Dawn (Dwayne); grandchildren, Will, Henry, Lily, Dylan; stepchildren, Chris (Judy) and Kim; grandchildren, Joseph, Christian, Kayla, Jessica, Katelyn, Jacob; sister, Claudine Whiteheart (Grady); brother, Randy; three nieces; two nephews and several great-nieces ,great-nephews and cousins. He was preceded in death by his infant children, Kimberly and Tommy; stepdaughter, Angie and many Aunts and Uncles. Tommy graduated from Hanes High School, where his cherished lifelong friends knew him as “Ace”. He proudly served in the US Army, stationed in Germany, Korea, NC and VA. He attended Forsyth Tech and built his career as Director of Maintenance and Housekeeping in Senior Living Facilities. He retired from Brian Center of Winston-Salem, grateful for his gained friendships and ready for cherished time with his family. A Memorial Service welcoming family and friends will be 2:00PM April 20, 2021 at Salisbury National Cemetery for Veterans, 501 Statesville Blvd. Salisbury, NC 28144.
