Julia Hall

Obituary of Julia Etta Hall

Julia (Judy) Etta Walker Hall, 79, died Monday, September 24, 2018, with her family by her side. She lived in Roanoke County, Va. with her husband. A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 1 to 3 p.m. Saturday, October 6, 2018 in Roanoke, Va. at the Roanoke Church of Christ Fellowship Hall. Judy was born Jan 5, 1939, in Muhlenberg County Kentucky to Milburn and Virginia Walker. They moved to Louisville, Kentucky when she was a young girl. Judy graduated from Valley High School, then went to Florida College in Temple Terrace Florida where she met her future husband, T.J. Hall. They were married for almost 60 incredible years. T.J. and Judy were wonderful examples of love and faithfulness for their family. Judy was a very compassionate woman who cared deeply for those around her. She and T.J. adopted a young Korean girl in 1978, which started a family tradition of foster care and adoption. She had 16 grandchildren but only six were biological. She loved her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren more than life itself. We believe this helped give her the strength to live through many health issues. Her love was stronger than her body. She loved people and took care of anyone who needed assistance. She opened her home to individuals in need, often providing financial help to those same individuals. Once she traveled on a medical mission although not medically trained, just to play with the children. Her suitcase was packed with toys and coloring books. She was also an active member of the Roanoke Church of Christ. She is survived by her husband T.J. Hall; her sister, Debbie Sheppard (and her husband Nick); her sons, Joey and Perry Hall (and their spouses Cathy and Janet); her daughters, Wendy Davis and Kim Minamyer (and their spouses Jeffrey and Tyler); and 16 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her son, Galen Hall. Instead of flowers, donations may be sent to charities who support children.
