Obituary of Neil Stephen Davis

Neil Stephen Davis, Sr., passed away unexpectedly Sunday, November 22, 2020 at Forsyth Memorial Hospital. Neil was born October 8, 1954 in Hickory, NC. He and his wife, Elaine, have been long time residents of the Clemmons, NC community. Neil attended Western Carolina University, where he studied graphic design. He recently retired from Lowes Foods as Creative and Graphic Designer after 46 years of employment there. He was an active member of Clemmons First Baptist Church where he served in many roles over the years including church deacon. At the time of his passing, he was a main part of the CFBC Audiovisual Team working specifically with Facebook and publicity, as well as the Technology Team, and the Public Relations Team. Neil was a Freemason and belonged to Lodge 343 in Hickory, NC. His many gifts and talents included his art, witty humor, and wisdom, but his sincere kindness and welcoming nature were unrivaled. He was greatly respected and loved by all his friends, colleagues, and family. Neil is survived by his cherished wife of 45 years, Elaine Pence Davis; son, Neil Stephen Davis, Jr. (Ashley); grandchildren, Natalie, Ashlynne, Savannah, and Mason Davis; step grandchildren Arianna and Bailey. Neil is also survived by a brother, Rev. Dr. Eric Davis (Teresa); sisters, Judith Isom (Ronnie), Susan Coley (Brad); and special amigo, Max McCrary. Neil was preceded in death by his parents, Bobby and Norma Davis; his son, Robert Griffin Davis; and his special amigo, Danny Shull. Due to an abundance of caution, an invitation-only service to honor Neil’s life and celebrate his new journey with his Savior will be conducted on December 5, 2020 at Clemmons First Baptist Church at 11:00 AM. The Rev. Dr. Wade Arnold and the Rev. Dr. Eric Davis will officiate the service. With concerns due to the COVID 19 virus, the family has asked that all attendees practice safe distancing guidelines and are requiring face masks be worn. The service will be available on CFBS Facebook and YouTube.
