Obituary of Phillip Edward Cottrell

It is with great sadness that the family of Philip Edward Cottrell announces his passing after a three-year battle with cancer on Monday August 13, 2018 at the age of 69.

Phil will be lovingly remembered by his wife of 45 years Dianne, and their daughter Molly Tuttle (Jamie). Phil will also be fondly remembered by his two grandchildren Logan and Gavin Tuttle. He leaves behind a sister, Carolyn Cottrell Culhane (Keith) and many nieces and nephews. Phil is preceded in death by his parents Kathleen and Harold Cottrell of Cincinnati, Ohio.

Phil was a graduate of the University of Kentucky and enjoyed cheering on the Wildcats during college basketball season. He was an avid golfer and played on many courses across the country. Phil loved camping and surf fishing at the beach with his family. During his retirement, Phil enjoyed spoiling his two grandchildren.

The family wishes to thank Forsyth Medical Center doctors, nurses, and staff of the IICU, ICU, and the Palliative Care Unit for their outstanding care and compassion.
