Obituary
Obituary of Philip Lee Goff
Philip Lee Goff, 53 of Winston-Salem, NC passed away peacefully surrounded by his family at Trellis Supportive Care on Tuesday, February 18, 2020. Philip was born on July 30, 1966 to
Glenn Meadows Goff and Phyllis Yates Goff Harvel of Winston-Salem. Philip graduated from Parkland High School in 1984. Following high school, he attended Forsyth Tech and graduated with an Associates Degree in Carpentry. Philip worked for the City of Winston-Salem Streets Division for 20 years and retired in 2015.
Philip was an avid motorcyclist an enjoyed riding with his friends and sightseeing. Many friends called him the “Human GPS” as he led many rides sometimes without an actual destination in mind. He always said, “as long as you know where the sun rises and sets you will never get lost”. He valued true friendship and loved his many friends fiercely. Philip never met a stranger. Philip was a NASCAR enthusiast which ran in the family since Robert Yates was his uncle and favorite car owner/engine builder. The Intimidator, Dale Earnhardt, Sr. #3 was his driver of choice and quite ironic that Philip passed on the same day as Dale 19 years later.
Philip was preceded in death by his parents and the love of his life, Tanya Stogdale Darnell. He is survived by his son, Austin Lee Goff; Sister, Christa Glyn Goff (Rick Perdue); Half Sister, Jerri Goff Butler;
Half Brother, Granville Clayton Goff (Carolee White) and many other special family members.
