Obituary of Jerry Yunker
Jerry Yunker passed away at Forsyth Medical Center from complications related to heart surgery on November 25, 2019. Jerry was born on August 16, 1962, in Ventura, California to Edward Louis Yunker II and Roberta English. He was the third of eight children. In 1985, Jerry married his wife Linda, whom he met while working at the Thousand Oaks Drive-In Theater. In 1994, Jerry, Linda and their first son Ryan, moved to Winston-Salem where his two other sons, Brandon and Kenny were born.
Jerry most recently worked for Pepsi Bottling Ventures. Prior to this, Jerry worked in the printing industry for 25 years, notably at The Thousand Oaks News Chronicle and AutoTrader in Winston-Salem.
Jerry loved fishing and spending time with his family. He coached soccer for his three sons in Optimist Soccer for over 20 years and enjoyed interacting with all of the children that he coached. He enjoyed the outdoors and fixing various things. Jerry was a loving husband and father, who always had a sense of humor.
Jerry is survived by his wife Linda and his three sons, Ryan, Brandon, and Kenny. He is also survived by his four brothers Edward, Robert, Michael, and Don and his three sisters, Sherrie, Brenda and Rebecca, and a host of cousins, nieces, and nephews. His sense of humor and love will be missed
