Obituary of Jerry Lee Knight
Jerry Lee Knight, 48, of Clemmons, NC, went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, December 4, 2019 from the Kate B. Reynolds Hospice Home surrounded by family and friends following a heroic 6+ year battle with ALS (Lou Gehrig’s disease). Born on August 31, 1971 in Homestead, Florida, Jerry always enjoyed building things with his hands, and was a gifted woodworker who spent 25 years as a Skilled Master Carpenter for Clemmons Hardwoods. His hobbies included fishing and drag racing.
Surviving to cherish his memory are his wife Brandy, son Evan Lee Knight, and stepson Catlin Summey, all of the home; parents Albert and Louise Campbell of Winston Salem; one sister Samantha (Chris) Money of Clemmons; many nieces and nephews, one great nephew, and many aunts, uncles, and cousins. Jerry was preceded in death by a brother, Robert James Knight Jr., and his maternal and paternal grandparents.
A “Celebration of Life” service will be held on Saturday at 2 PM at Union Hill Baptist Church (8494 Lasater Road in Clemmons), with Rev. Christopher Burcham and Rev. Jacob Scott officiating. The family will receive friends for one hour prior to the service.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Jim “Catfish” Hunter chapter of the ALS Association (4 N. Blount St., Suite 200, Raleigh, NC 27061).
