Obituary of Nancy Sue Blade Lighthart

Nancy Sue Blade Lighthart, 66, passed away peacefully in her home, Saturday November 9, 2019 after a short battle with a terminal illness.

 

Nancy was born November 12^th 1952 to the late Millard Blade and Vita Ann Creek Blade. She had 5 sisters and 4 brothers and resided in Rockford IL for most of her life. She met her Husband Curtis W Lighthart in 1968 and was married in 1971. Curt and Nancy had 2 daughters and 1 son. She worked as a real-estate agent and sold parts at an appliance part warehouse until 1998 when they moved south to Tennessee. She continued to work in retail shops and for a time road along with Curtis as he drove truck across the US. In 2003 Nancy and Curt moved to NC to start their retirement and enjoy their grandchildren. Nancy continued to work in retail shops until her retirement in the NC mountains, with her husband, in 2014. 

Nancy lived for her family. She cared for and fought for her husband and children each and every day. She grew large veggie gardens, made her children’s cloths, maintained a lovely home for her family and still worked a job. Her children never had a want or need for anything for she always provided.  She loved her family unconditionally.

Nancy spent her retirement with her Husband Curt in NC mountain’s. She sewed her own cloths, made jewelry and enjoyed wood working with Curt. They were very happy for 48 years. Both Nancy and Curtis will be laid to rest together here in the NC mountain’s they loved so much.

Nancy was preceded in death by her Husband Curtis Lighthart and her parents Millard and Vida Blade. Her sisters Helen Blade Holland and Melinda Blade. Her Brothers Donald Blade, Johnie Blade and Michael Blade.

Nancy is survived by her children Susan & Bill Berner, Michelle &Brad Perry and Curtis & Melody Lighthart.  6 grandchildren Megan Lighthart, Jacob and Branden Perry, Levi, Taylor and Dalton Lighthart. 1 great grandchild Chase Lighthart. 3 sisters JoAnne Blade Pruitt & Junior Pruitt, Mildred Blade Pruitt, Laura Blade Forrest & Dennis Forrest. 3 sisters in laws Rita lighthart Frank, Anita Lighthart Garrison & Bud Garrison and Sarah Lighthart Johnson.  Also, many well-loved cousins’ nieces and nephews.

 

No funeral arrangements have been made at this time. Nancy’s wishes are to be cremated and to spend forever with the love of her life Curtis.
