Obituary of John Earl Rominger, Jr.

Mr. John Earl Rominger, Jr, 74, passed away Friday afternoon, October 18, 2019, at Trellis Supportive Care in Winston-Salem. He was born August 27, 1945 in Winston-Salem, North Carolina, to the late John Earl Rominger, Sr., and Nellie Campbell Rominger.  Preceding him in death were his sisters, Nancy Rominger Geller, Joan Rominger Porterfield and nephew, Robert Marcus Porterfield. He is survived by his wife, Jane Mickey Rominger, his daughter, Wendy Rominger Cairns (Brian), his son, Jeffrey Sean Rominger (Krysti). granddaughters, Evelyn Christine Rominger, of Wilmington, North Carolina, and Ashlynn Elizabeth Cairns of Kernersville, nieces, Heather Lynn Porterfield of Chapel Hill, and Judy Porterfield of Henderson, nephews, Ronald Lee Geller of Hilton Head, and Drew Allen Geller of Atlanta, and cousin, Doris Rothrock Holder of Lewisville.

John was a devoted husband, father, grandfather and uncle. He loved nature and animals. He worked in many fields including electronics and as the purchasing agent for Medical Park Hospital in Winston-Salem. He owned and operated Sleepy Hollow Landscaping for over 40 years. He was a sports enthusiast enjoying football, softball, high school wrestling and speed skating.

The family will receive friends on Sunday, October 27 from 3:00 to 5:00 pm at the home of his brother-in-law, John Mickey, at 1709 Kimberly Place, High Point, NC, 27265.
